Please give a brief description of your band, NICATAS DRUMER.

LONGINUS: Black Fucken Metal! Our current material is fast as fuck (pure satanic mayhem!). As far as the line-up is concerned, there is myself and Morg as usual, and our two new members Arthame and Abyssydion.

MORG: We are from South Africa, the band formed about I'd say 93-94, but under different names. We play Black Metal, and ONLY Black Metal! No keyboard shit, proper fucking music!!


I just read that you got permission to cover a song by Hypocrisy. Are they a major influence in your music?

LONGINUS: I wouldn't say a major influence. I'm just a big fan of the band. On the other hand, just the other day we were working on some material and I thought to myself "FUCK!! this reminds me of Hypocrisy!!". So who the fuck knows, maybe it is more of an influence than I thought.

MORG: Yeah!! That's pretty cool, not many people would usually even think about asking for permission, we just thought it would be a respectable thing to do! Well, no, not really a big influence in Nicatas Drumer, but it has had a lot of impact on me over the years!


What made you want to become a musician? And why did you choose Black Metal as they style of music that you play?

LONGINUS: It was either a musician or an assassin, and I didn't choose black metal it chose me HAHA!!. Seriously I can honestly say that is the type of music I enjoy.

MORG: I suppose to get a lot of chicks, get free booze and never work again! HAHA!!! But honestly, it's something that just happened, cant really explain why! Always enjoyed music, just thought one day that it would be nice to become the idolized instead of idolizing others!! And it's because of the extremity and intensity involved in Black Metal as well, it's fucking mesmerizing!! It's a good way to get your message out there in the way that you would want, with EXTREMITY!!!


NICATAS DRUMER is a member of the organization called Heavycore (www.heavycore.org). Explain what Heavycore is and how you got involved with it.

MORG: Yeah!! Pete Altieri, founder of Heavycore is a really fucking dedicated metalhead!! Not too many around anymore unfortunately!! Heavycore is basically a lot of things! Even has it's own label! I suppose it's an organization bringing all bands, extreme, true and dedicated bands together and also for huge promotion for your band! It's a lot more than that you know, just I cant give a good enough description cause I suck at that!! HAHA!!!! We found Heavycore thanks to Andrew Parrish from the Ohio based band HALOMACHINE! HAILS TO ANDREW!! For his undying support, A true brother in METAL!! THE SPORT IS WAR!! TOTAL FUCKING WAR!!!!


When you have something to promote, who does all of your promotion?

LONGINUS: We do all of the promotion ourselves, actually Morg does most of it. We also get some help from our Comrades in the rest of the world!!


Any tours, new merchandise, big plans coming up for NICATAS DRUMER?

LONGINUS: There are a couple of shows in the worxx, probably later this year (it's gonna be really necro "dead things on sticks" EEEEVILL!!!). And concerning merchandise, there is the new demo coming out middle of the year, and I'm sure all the Fiends out there will enjoy it!!


What does NICATAS DRUMER mean?.

MORG: HEHE!! If you just play around with the letters and re-arrange them, I'm sure you'll find out pretty soon. But, I guess I'll tell you anyway. It means "Satanic Murder".


Is there a lot of other heavy/death bands in South Africa? Are there a lot of venues to play at?

LONGINUS: There are a few bands. Most of them are crappy. But I'm sure that will change. That's what were trying to do! As far as I'm concerned we are the only Black Metal band trying to get out there!! Not to many venues, but there is a few underground clubs.


Now to get away from the music aspect a little bit, what's the craziest thing you have ever done?

LONGINUS: Well how much time have you got!?. Well we've done a lot of crazy shit. (Especially Morg, he's a really crazy motherfucker "COO COO"). Shit like breaking things getting kicked out of bars, trouble with the law guns, knives shit like that, we're really destructive, I suppose we drink to much, to fucking much!! I think the most important point to remember is that our rehearsal room is Fucken surrounded by a cemetery and there is a Morgue up the road HEHE!!! THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT!!.

MORG: HAHA!!! Longinus pretty much sums it all up!!


What is your view point on war?

LONGINUS: It is in our nature. Human beings and war walk hand in hand. There will never be an end to war, survival of the fittest. Personally I support war 110%!!!.

MORG: Well, as Longinus put it, it is true that it is in our nature, it'll never be vanquished! War is the only answer, Peace is hardly ever the solution! If you want peace war is the answer!!! (and peace never lasts for ever!! So...)


What would you do if you could rule your country for a few days?

LONGINUS: One word. "DESTRUCTION!!" HAHAHA!!!. Knowing myself I would probably fuck the entire place up KILL KILL KILL!!! But I think it's fucked up enough without my help.

MORG: HEHEHEHE!!!!! You don't want to fucking know!!


Any final comments, advice, complaints, ect.?

LONGINUS: Look out for "Nicatas Drumer", we're gonna destroy your eardrums soon! I'd also like to complain about all these fucken people talking in my head!! CHEERS!!!
